Rallying to Spread Christmas Cheer!

Posted by dmosher under: Main.

D’Maya Consulting and Management Inc. will be spending some time this holiday season reaching out to those in need.   The team at D’Maya will be hosting a Holiday Toy Drive with all donations going to the Cobequid Children’s First Foundation of Truro.

There are too many families in our communities in need.  This Toy Drive is a way for us to spread the joy of the holiday season to those who otherwise, may have to go without,” said Lisa Yorke, CEO of D’Maya.

Toys, especially those for children aged 10 to 12 years old, are needed more than ever by the Cobequid Children’s First Foundation.  D’Maya is looking for the support of the community to help put toys in the hands of deserving children.

We want to help the Cobequid Children’s First Foundation but where we are a smaller organization, without the support of the local community, the impact may not be as great,” continued Yorke. We hope that businesses and individuals in the local area will participate in the initiative with their generosity.”

Donations for the drive will be collected the week of December 7 to 11th at the D’Maya offices in the Debert Air Industrial Park.  Individuals and businesses in our area who wish to donate can contact D’Maya Consulting and Management Inc. at 902.641.3111 for more information.

D’Maya Event Coordination Services Reach National Scale

Posted by cdorey under: Main.

Delegates in meeting session at the NACCA AGM

On June 23 to 25, D’Maya Consulting & Management Inc. worked with Ulnooweg Development Group to coordinate the 13th Annual General Meeting of the National Aboriginal Capital Corporation Association.  The Membertou Trade and Convention Centre in Sydney, NS became home to participants from across Canada for the duration of the event.

The three-day event began with pre-meeting activities including choices of a day of golf, a sailing excursion or a visit to a local historic site.  The first day’s festivities ended with a Welcome Reception of true Maritime flair with musical performances by talented Cape Breton fiddler and piano player.

The highlight of the visit to the east coast was the Cultural Celebrations Banquet held the evening of the 24th.   Approximately 150 attendees were invited to partake in the culture of Mi’kma’ki (the lands of the Mi’kmaq).  Guests were treated to an Atlantic lobster feast as well as performances by Cordel and Kateri Pierro; the Sons of Membertou drummers; contemporary Mi’kmaq dancers; and Joel Denny and family.

Coordination services provided by D’Maya Consulting and Management for the event consisted of hiring entertainers, coordinating a pre-day excursion, managing logistics, and working with all related organizations to ensure a smooth and successful event.
